Howdy Hello Hola Hey Ho

The Street Market Bar

Tentu saja terdapat menu menarik lain seperti Malay Butter Prawn, Son-in-law Eggs, Bahn Mi, atau cocktail One For the Road.

The Street Market Bar
Gladys, owner of Howdy Hello Hola Hey Ho, deliberately using long name to make it more controversial and memorable. However, to be a honest, I really had a hard time remembering it. Therefore, let just call this restaurant H5. The casual, street market themed, restaurant is filled with modern contemporary decoration, for example, the graffiti of people who are taking pictures of their food, food porn anyone?

While Japanese, Chinese, or Korean cuisine have become more common, H5 exploits the beauty of South East Asian cuisine such as Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore. Com Tam, the Vietnamese broken rice rice served with fried egg, pickles, and chicken or pork, can be considered as H5’s icon. Of course, I recommend Com Tam Pork with the delicious pork chop. The smell of it is strong enough to raise any carnivores' libido.

Son-in-Law Eggs

One of the most popular cocktail (also the most controversial) in H5 is Leslie Chow’s Orgy Party, Asian style  sangria party booze. The name is inspired by the annoying character, Leslie Chow (starred by Korean actor Ken Jeong), from the movie Hangover. The unique cocktail is served in some kind of Tamiya box (cheers to those who experienced those beautiful childhood!). The mix of Absolut Blue, Triple Sec, chardonnay, lemongrass syrup, lemon juice can be customized with some fruit toppings such as longan, pineapple, guava, grape, etc. Warning: I won’t be responsible if the cocktail will raise your inner Leslie Chow, or you got involved in the party as suggested by the name of the cocktail.

Of course, there are other interesting menus such as Malay Butter Praw, Son-in-law Eggs (ouch!), Bahn Mi or the cocktail One For The Road. Another surprise comes from the affordable price tag, both for the food and for the cocktail.
